About Copilot for Microsoft 365 Training

This half-day training is designed to give your teams operational mastery of Copilot: understand how it works, use it safely, and apply it immediately in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, and put its agents to work: Researcher, Analyst and Agent Builder.

Goal: by the end of the session, participants can write, summarize, analyze, and speed up everyday work with Copilot ; while staying in control of quality, confidentiality, and accountability.

Also part of your EU AI Act Article 4 duty: deploying Copilot makes your organization a deployer of an AI system, required since 2 February 2025 to ensure a sufficient level of AI literacy of its staff. This training meets that obligation where your teams work every day: inside Microsoft 365.

AI foundations & understanding Copilot

Participants start with the three ideas that explain every Copilot answer: the large language model (LLM), Microsoft Graph, and the grounded prompt. They learn what Copilot can and can’t do, why the same prompt gives different answers to different people, and the key limits to keep quality and confidentiality under control.

Prompting & workflow patterns

Participants learn a short, effective prompting framework (goal, context, sources, expected format) and, most importantly, the key skill: iterating until the output is usable. They build reusable prompt patterns for recurring team tasks and learn how to get “prompt coaching” when needed.

Microsoft 365 use cases + agents

Participants apply Copilot directly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams: writing, summarizing, analysis, presentations, and communication workflows. They then put the agents to work: Researcher for multi-step research, Analyst for data analysis, and Agent Builder to create and share their own—without turning Copilot into a black box.

Responsible use: risks & best practices

Copilot accelerates, but it doesn’t replace judgment. Participants learn the right habits to keep usage professional and safe:

  • Key risks: inaccuracies, bias, overconfidence, reputation and compliance implications
  • Practical rules: verify, frame the request, cite/link the source when needed, avoid sensitive data, adopt shared team habits
  • “Before sending” mini-checklist: a simple grid to validate quality, consistency, and confidentiality level of a deliverable

  • What Copilot can and cannot access depending on the environment, and the implications for quality and confidentiality

  • The prebuilt gallery: meeting facilitation, translation, project management, and how agents surface inside the apps covered in Module 4
  • Agent Builder: describe an agent in natural language, ground it on your documents and sites, share it with the team

Frequently asked questions

Does Copilot for Microsoft 365 replace employees?

No. Copilot takes over the mechanical part of office work: drafting, summarising, searching, first-pass analysis. The judgment, the relationships and the decisions stay with your people. The training is built around that division of labour: participants learn which tasks to delegate and how to review what comes back.

What is covered besides writing prompts?

The full span of Copilot in Microsoft 365: Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, the mechanics underneath (the language model, Microsoft Graph and the grounded prompt), the Researcher and Analyst agents, building and sharing your own agents with Agent Builder, and responsible use.

What are the Researcher and Analyst agents?

Copilot agents that work for minutes rather than seconds. Researcher runs multi-step research across your documents, emails, meetings and the web and returns a cited report. Analyst reasons over data files and produces the kind of analysis a data analyst would. The training shows when each one beats the standard chat.

Can Copilot show me documents I am not allowed to see?

No. Copilot retrieves through Microsoft Graph and respects the permissions already set in your Microsoft 365 tenant: a user can never obtain through Copilot a document they could not open themselves. The training covers this grounding mechanism explicitly, because understanding it is what builds trust in the answers.

Do participants need a technical background?

No. The training is for the people who use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams every day, whatever their role. Concepts like the language model and Microsoft Graph are introduced once, in plain language, then reused throughout the session inside the tools themselves.

Is the training available in French and English, on-site or remote?

Both. Sessions run in French or English, on-site across Belgium and Luxembourg (we are based in Brussels) or remotely, and the exercises can be tailored to your organisation's real documents and use cases.
